Board Leadership and Vision
As Board Chair of the Greenville Chamber of Commerce for 2025, Traci Newkirk holds the highest volunteer leadership position guiding the Chamber’s board of directors. The board is the policy-making body of the Chamber, representing the business leadership of Greenville and setting strategic priorities that support economic growth, business advocacy, and community prosperity.
Her Experience on the Board
Traci has served on the Chamber board since 2019, holding leadership roles such as Vice Chair of Organizational Effectiveness and participating in various committees before taking on the chair role. This long tenure provided her with deep insight into how the Chamber supports businesses of all sizes and fosters collaboration across sectors.
Leadership Philosophy and Approach
In her own reflections shared publicly, she emphasizes that leadership is about stewardship rather than spotlight—honoring past leaders, strengthening the organization’s mission, and preparing future leaders. She highlights appreciation for Chamber staff, board colleagues, and the collective commitment to Greenville’s business community.
Focus as Chair
While board chairs typically help guide strategic discussions, support Chamber initiatives, and represent the Chamber at community and business events, Traci’s emphasis has been on:
- Engaging and supporting small and mid-sized businesses, critical to Greenville’s economic vitality.
- Strengthening collaboration among board members, Chamber staff, and the wider business community.
- Championing a culture of giving and shared value, reflected in her emphasis on leadership as service to others.
