Greenville Chamber Announces 2024 Board Slate, Traci Newkirk Named Chair-Elect

The Greenville Chamber Board of Directors approved its 2024 board slate and appointed Traci Newkirk as chair-elect.

Jessica Donan, EY’s Office Managing Partner for Greenville, will serve as Board Chair in 2024. Traci Newkirk will take over the highest volunteer leadership role for the Greenville Chamber in 2025.

Traci is the President and Founder of Human Potential Advisors. She has served on the board since 2019. During that time, she has served in various capacities, most recently as Vice Chair of Organizational Effectiveness. Traci is passionate about helping individuals and teams achieve their full potential. Beyond her work with the Chamber, Traci invests her time mentoring a variety of young professionals and leads various spiritually based women’s development groups. She also gives both her time and treasure to many Upstate philanthropic organizations.

According to Traci, “I am honored and thrilled to have the opportunity to serve our thriving business community as Chair of the Greenville Chamber Board of Directors. As a small business owner and someone who frequently works alongside entrepreneurs, leaders, and teams within this community, I plan to bring these various experiences and perspectives into my leadership. It is my hope and aim to better engage and support Greenville’s dynamic small business community whose success is critical to growing a greater Greenville. Above all, I look forward to working alongside my fellow board members to continue accelerating Greenville’s prosperity and advancing its future.”

Jessica said, “Traci Newkirk is no stranger to the Greenville Chamber. Having previously served on the Strategic Cabinet in various capacities, she has contributed significantly to the purpose, mission and vision of the Chamber. With Traci’s proven track record of leadership as the Founder and President of a small business and her commitment to excellence in all she does, she is the ideal choice to serve as the Chair and to lead the Chamber Board into a new era of growth and innovation that benefits all Chamber Members. It will be my privilege to work alongside her in the coming years as we continue to Grow a Greater Greenville.”

Six new members will join the board in 2024:

  • Linda Hannon, Duke Energy
  • Kamber Parker, YoProKnow
  • Carl Sobocinski, Table 301
  • Ebony Sullivan, Cassy Electric
  • Erin Thompson, Messer Construction
  • Jenny Wehrs, Bon Secours St. Francis Health System

Cal Hurst, Southern First Bank President, will serve as Immediate Past Chair of the Chamber Board, and will also serve as Chair of the Greenville Chamber Foundation in 2024.

Four individuals have completed their board service term and will exit the board: Jon Chilton, South State Bank; Will Huss, Trehel Corporation; James Jordon, Jordon Construction; and Adela Mendoza, Hispanic Alliance. The Board of Directors is the policy-making body of the Greenville Chamber. Its members represent the business and professional leadership of the community. New members will begin in January 2024.
